This dramatic price trajectory reflects two pressures: a severe GDDR7 memory component shortage and soaring demand for high-capacity professional AI accelerators. The June 2026 move from $8,435 to $13,250 was already a 57% hike; the new August jump from $13,250 to $16,000 adds another 20%. Nvidia did not officially announce these price increases. Notably, the card's 96GB of GDDR7 VRAM is particularly scarce—DDR memory costs have spiked industry-wide—making the PRO 6000 Blackwell expensive to produce and allocate.
The situation underscores the memory bottleneck in professional accelerator supply. Third-party retailers like Newegg list the same SKU at $13,998, and B&H at $15,499, suggesting price variation by channel and inventory levels.
