NASA partners with Microchip to build space-grade chips with 100x power for lunar/Mars missions

NASA and Microchip Technology have partnered to design radiation-hardened processors delivering 100x the computational power of current spaceflight silicon, intended for extended Moon and Mars missions. The chips will handle extreme environments while supporting modern AI/ML inference at scale in deep space.
