Index Ventures is in talks to lead a $500 million fundraise for a new London-based AI lab founded by Jack Parker-Holder, a Google DeepMind researcher who led the company's world models development team. Six other DeepMind alumni have joined the startup. The neolab is focused on training world models at internet scale to unlock embodied AGI, building on Parker-Holder's prior work on the Genie project and most recently Genie 3, DeepMind's state-of-the-art world model for generating environments from video.
