8090 Labs, the AI-native software factory founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, closed a $135 million Series A led by Salesforce Ventures, with participation from WndrCo (Jeffrey Katzenberg), Craft Ventures (David Sacks), The Production Board (David Friedberg), and LAUNCH (Jason Calacanis). Palihapitiya is stepping into the CEO role—his first full-time operating position since leaving Facebook in 2011.

8090's Software Factory platform automates enterprise software delivery with coordinated AI agents and human developers, emphasizing governance and auditability over raw code speed. The company reverse-engineered 18 million lines of legacy COBOL and Assembly into 300,000 plain-English rules in 40 days, then helped a health insurer reduce vendor-sent claims by 80%, avoiding $20 million over four years. Customers span healthcare, insurance, life sciences, financial services, manufacturing, aerospace, and government.
