The new system uses multiple device identifiers to better match driver versions to hardware.
The change addresses friction in enterprise ML environments where automatic driver downgrades break CUDA/ROCm stability. Enterprises have historically disabled Windows Update or manually pinned drivers to avoid this; the fix aims to restore automation while preserving version control.
